General Committee

The General Committee is made up of up to 27 ordinary committee members and up to two geographical Council Members of The Law Society.  Each member serves a three-year term.  Nine members will be due to retire at each AGM although five of those nine due to retire can be nominated by the Committee for re-election at the Society's AGM.  This Committee is responsible for the management of the Society's business.  All the sub-committees report in to this Committee.

Trainee Conciliation Officer (TCO)

Although not a member of General Committee, the Trainee Conciliation Officer (TCO) is appointed by the Officers of the Society.

Miss Helen Broughton is Liverpool Law Society’s TCO for trainees in the Merseyside area. The role of the TCO is to liaise with trainees who have concerns or issues with their training contract. The TCO is an experienced member of the local legal community who trainees can approach in confidence regarding their problem.
