Candidate Description

I am looking to work as a criminal and/or prison paralegal. I am particularly eager to train as a police station representative. I am keen to gain as much practical experience as possible and so would be willing to engage in a range of duties.

I have obtained a 2:1 degree in law and did particularly well in criminal and public law where I obtained a first overall. I completed the Bar Vocational Course (“BVC”) with a grade of Very Competent and was called to the Bar in July 2011. I am currently a studying at the University of Birmingham for an LLM in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice specialising in transnational crimes and human rights.

I am a strong advocate and received excellent feedback from tutors throughout the BVC. In February last year I reached the semi-final of the Inner Temple’s Lawson Moot Competition and as a volunteer for a local mental health charity I regularly represented people in court in presenting their bankruptcy petitions. In this role I also represented people in interviews with their insolvency practitioners.

I am willing to provide a CV on request as well as access to my professional portfolio which contains DVD copies of my advocacy performances and feedback from tutors.
