The Crypt at the Metropolitan Cathedral is the only part to be built of the original uncompleted Cathedral designed by Sir Edwin Lutyens in 1930. With its high barrel and vaulted ceilings and dark brick work and contrasting grey granite, it gives some feel of the grandeur of the magnificent cathedral planned to stand above it.  The Crypt Hall
Peter Slack
After dinner dairy farmer Peter Slack entertained the crowd with his sharp observational humour and his ability to form word pictures, bringing the countryside and its characters to life.

Also appearing were the Merseyside Young Singers of the Year, past and present.
