Judges' Forum & Opening of the New Legal Year

The President of Liverpool Law Society, Mr Charlie Jones together with Mr Iain Goldrein

Q. C. of the Northern Circuit, invited members to join them for the Judges’ Forum and Opening of New Legal Year, on Thursday 15^th October 2009, 5.00pm for 5.30pm

The Judges' Forum was a unique opportunity to let the judges know the problems and frustrations lawyers face and to hear the judges' views on the questions put to them. Solicitors and barristers submitted questions in advance which where passed to the judiciary to enable them to fully consider the questions and prepare their responses.

The judicial panel consisted of:

Resident Judge for Merseyside

His Honour Judge Stephen Stewart Q.C., Designated Civil Judge for Merseyside

Her Honour Judge Margaret de Haas Q.C., Designated Family Judge for Merseyside

Following the Judges' Forum, Liverpool Law Society and the Northern Circuit celebrated the Opening of the New Legal Year which was marked with a champagne reception and canapés.
