Members of The Dublin Solicitors Bar Association and the Belfast Solicitors’ joined fellow solicitors in Liverpool for a weekend of entertainment .

 

Friday afternoon commenced with a champagne & canape reception at the Cotton Exchange. Then with umbrellas at the ready  the group of over 30 made a dash for the coach for the Mid-Summer Eve meeting in Chester at the Rodee. Rumours have it that the luck of the Irish was certainly with a couple of the party. The evening finished at Liverpool’s Chung Ku restaurant where a large banquet  was enjoyed by all.

 

Saturday morning saw a tour of the city centre sights aboard the Liverpool Duck Marine providing insight not only to the Irish but also to lifelong Liverpudlians.A delicious lunch was provided by the Malmaison and the group enjoyed the hotel's very generous hospitality in a private room to watch the Lions rugby....shame about the result!

 

Little time was left to put on those glad rags for the black tie Legal Awards Ceremony. Filled with champagne, members and guests took to their seats for a five course meal welcomed by the President of Liverpool Law Society, Charlie Jones. After the meal the audience were treated to a spectacular display of dancing from none other than Strictly Come Dancing pair Vincent & Flavia.

Members and guests then witnessed the celebration of legal excellence in Liverpool and the surrounding areas. Roger Phillips, the compere, led the awards, click here for further information. Dancing to the live band Last Resort went on well into the night.

 

We hope the Befast and Dublin solicitors enjoyed the weekend and Liverpool look forward to visiting Dublin next year.
