Management Conference - 8th February 2012
Liverpool Law Society’s Management Conference 2012
This year’s Management Conference took place on 8th February at the Liverpool Law Society Training Suite and my immediate thanks go to David Lewis of Weightmans LLP who kindly returned to chair the conference and did so extremely well.
The conference opened with a review of the Regulatory Landscape 2012 by SRA representative: Antony Townsend. Jane Jarman of Nottingham Law School then discussed the life and times of a Compliance Officer, providing a ‘compliance tour of the SRA handbook and duties of the COLP’s and COFA’s. Linda Eisenberg talked about developing your business skills for competitive advantage and Andrew Otterburn about managing your finances in times of change.
After lunch, we were delighted that Sir Bill Callaghan could attend and tell us all he could about The Future of Legal Aid. Keith Harper then discussed the role of the partner in a modern law firm and developing future leaders and Peter Scott asked ‘Why consider consolidation? – consolidate for the right reasons’.
Quote from delegate: ‘’Excellent course – great programme, David Lewis chaired very well’
Thanks go to all our sponsors: First 4 CPD, MoneyPenny & Wesleyan for Lawyers.
