Speaker Biographies

Roger Johnson is the face of the BBC in the north west.  He has presented BBC North West Tonight since 2011 and is also a familiar face on BBC Breakfast.  His interviewees range from Prime Ministers to England football managers and he has developed a reputation with the audience for a no-nonsense interviewing style.  Roger grew up in Stoke-on-Trent and, only yesterday, marked 25 years working for the BBC.  He has appeared on a variety of programmes – in both news and sport.  In fact, he holds the distinction of (probably) being the only person to commentate on Match of the Day and read the BBC News on the same day!  Roger lives with his family in south Manchester.
