Description

The Law Society’s annual Carrie Morrison lecture is due to take place from 17:45 to 20:00 on Tuesday 5 December  as a hybrid event (Online and in-person at Chester University).

Over the last century, women have made significant progress, now making up two-thirds of law graduates and 64% of newly qualified solicitors. However, only 35% of law firm partners are women. The lecture and subsequent panel discussion will explore the future of the legal profession and the new ways of working.

“Carrie Morrison and the women admitted in that first group were true trailblazers and a marvellous inspiration to both female and male practitioners. By attending a lecture in her memory, we are strengthening our commitment to a diverse and meritocratic profession.” says Jeremy Myers, President of Liverpool Law Society.

Join the Law Society, at this free event, to discuss the challenges and barriers to gender equality and how organisations can move the conversation beyond talk to action to shape a more inclusive profession. The Law Society will also be highlighting the various resources available from them that can support you to address gender inclusion, including their Women in Law Pledge, Diversity and Inclusion Framework and gender pay gap reporting guidance.

Please sign up to attend.  Bookings close at midnight on Friday, 1 December 2023.
