Annie Cunningham, The Court Clinical Lead, Criminal Justice Liaison and Diversion Team, Queen Elizabeth II Law Courts will attend the Criminal Practice Committee and do a presentation on the work of the Mental Health Court Support Team. The event will offer an overview of the service that they can offer in court, how they can support defendants and solicitors with cases that have a mental health component. The presentation will also give the solicitors some background information to our team and how we work, the more we understand about each other’s role the better the working relationships. This applies to crown court cases only.
Annie said that what they are currently finding is some solicitors know them really well and use the team all the time and then others have very minimal knowledge of our service – she hopes to change that.
