The School of Law at LJMU is hosting a couple of events in October. They would be very grateful for the help of some law firms in the Merseyside area that could provide participants from Senior Partners to Trainees to HR. As Gerry Diver, the Employer Engagement Officer says, "This is such a valuable experience for our students to hear directly from those working in the legal sector and can serve to inspire their future careers choices." Details of what LJMU are hoping for appear below.
19th October – Legal Panel Event 9.45 – 11.30 at Redmonds Building, Brownlow Hill. Aimed at Level 5 Law Students.
Ideally we would like 4/ 5 employers on the day, a mix of law firms (family, commercial etc) and perhaps an advocacy organisation or another agency working in the justice/ legal sphere. We would ask if they could make some introductory remarks on their work and participate in a short Q&A.
26th October Law Mock Interviews & Assessment Centre Event 9.00-11.00 at Redmonds
We need 2 different employer reps per interview x 7 (14 in total) to conduct mock interviews
This is aimed at giving the students a realistic experience of an interview with panel members who understand what’s required from those interested in working in the legal sector. A full briefing will be given to panel members prior to the interviews.
