Over 280 people from more than 35 law firms, barristers’ chambers, law centres, university law departments, Merseyside JLD and WLD, in-house lawyers & advice providers turned up on a wet and windy autumnal evening on 2nd October to show their support for the advice sector grant-giving charity, the Access to Justice Foundation Registered Charity in England and Wales (No. 1126147) to do a fundraising walk organised by Liverpool Law Society.
Starting outside the QEII Law Courts in Liverpool city centre, and led by HHJ Cadwallader, Judge of the Business & Property Courts in Liverpool, Norman Jones, President of Liverpool Law Society 2011-2012, Beth Walker, Merseyside JLD Immediate Past Chair and current President of Liverpool Law Society James Mannouch, the walkers began a 5K route around the city centre that took in iconic venues such as the Museum of Liverpool, Royal Albert Dock, Chinatown and St George’s Hall before arriving a bit wet and bedraggled at the Dale Street Social pub. Walkers were welcomed into the warmth with a drink on arrival kindly sponsored by St John’s Buildings and The University of Law.
