Outstanding Lawyer Award Category Definition

This award will be presented to an exceptional individual who has made outstanding contributions to the legal profession during the one-year period to 31st July 2025. They might have had a particularly positive impact on the reputation of the profession, shown use of innovation in the law, or have made an unusually significant impact in their practice area or in the service of clients. An individual may nominate themselves or be put forward by others and the award is open to anyone working in the legal profession who is a member of Liverpool Law Society.

Online nomination form

1. The nominee must be a member of Liverpool Law Society at the time the nomination is submitted. They should be from one of the eight branches of the legal profession: a qualified solicitor working in-house or in private practice, a barrister, a costs lawyer, a patent agent, a notary public, a fellow of CILEX, a licensed conveyancer or trademark attorney. (Maximum 100 words)

2. Promotion of legal excellence in Merseyside and beyond taking into account, where relevant, obstacles that have been overcome. (Maximum 100 words)

3. Evidence of outstanding performance and the significant impact the individual has had in raising their own, their team’s, firm’s or chamber’s profile and enhancing the reputation of Merseyside as a centre for legal excellence. (Maximum 100 words)


4. Evidence of best practice in client service, technical skills, legal tech and/or leadership. (Maximum 100 words)


5. Innovation and involvement in interesting, challenging or new areas of practice including any specific cases of significance or contribution to the development of your area of law. (Maximum 100 words)


6. Goals and/or targets you were most proud of achieving during the period, and why. (Maximum 100 words)


7. Involvement in and contribution to professional and other bodies. (Maximum 100 words)


8. Success in external listings/awards/recognitions during the period. (Maximum 100 words)
