Liverpool Law Society is looking to appoint a Legal Training & Event Manager. You will be in charge of the Society’s legal training programme, identifying and arranging open courses for solicitors, barristers, legal executives, paralegals and others working in the legal sector. You will manage the entire process from the planning stage, right through to running the event and carrying out the post-event evaluation. The role is primarily hands-on.
You will also arrange business networking events, both formal and informal, on occasion. With both legal training events and other events, the Society works with sponsors and it would be a key element of your role to maintain excellent relationship with third parties and fulfil the sponsorship agreements.
You will be in charge of producing the marketing for the Society’s legal training events & other activities across digital and social media platforms, with assistance from colleagues, and other duties as befit a professional membership organisation.

Experience
- Event organisation
- Marketing of events, utilizing a multi-channel approach – for instance social media, email campaigns, website, content marketing and partnerships.
- Experience of managing budgets.
- Previous experience of working in, or knowledge of, the legal or other professional sector desirable

- Excellent organisational and time management skills necessary
- Stakeholder management ability
- Ability to see projects through from start to finish
- Ability to manage a heavy workload and at times conflicting priorities as well as tracking progress on a wide range of tasks

- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of the English language
- Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Excel, Word and technology generally
- Experience of MS Dynamics CRM and Mailchimp beneficial
Terms summary
- 4 or 5 days (28 – 35 hours) a week from Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
- Permanent position
- £35,000 pa – £40,000 pa depending on experience + performance bonus
- Mostly working from home with some Liverpool city centre attendance at in-person events
- Some overtime required – flexibility is important
- 20 days holidays (excluding bank holidays) per annum, up to 25 days for long service after 5 years for full time employees
