Karl read law at Birmingham University, then joined Guinness Mahon Investment Management (GMIM) in 1985. In 1987 he was Money Observer’s top-performing UK unit trust fund manager. In 1989 he set up CRT Group plc (CRT), a consultancy, recruitment and training business. In 1996 CRT sold 50.1% of its equity for £109 million to Knowledge Universe, a private US-based company. He left CRT in 1999 and set up AdviserPlus Business Solutions in 2000 which was acquired by a Private Equity investor in November 2016. Karl joined Riverview Law, a legal services business, as Chief Executive in the summer of 2011 following its creation by AdviserPlus. Riverview Law (www.riverviewlaw.com) was acquired by EY in August 2018 and he is Strategic Adviser to the company. Karl is also a Non-Executive Director of Kim Technologies (www.ask.kim

Michelle is a qualified lawyer and business strategist with a passion and aptitude for Liverpool City Region public and corporate affairs. She is currently working alongside Liverpool Echo editors Ali Machray and Alistair Houghton as Head of Partnerships for Liverpool City Region Business Post. Michelle advised international companies Bilfinger Berger, FCC Construction, Macquarie Capital Bank, John Laing, Kier and Interserve on economic regeneration whilst supporting the delivery of the Royal Liverpool Hospital and Mersey Gateway bridge bids. She went on to lead the Mersey Gateway business stakeholder engagement working for international contractor Emovis, the Merseyflow tolling operator.
Stuart been a partner at Weightmans since 2002. Since 2005 he has been responsible for Weightmans’ IT department and in 2010 was promoted to IS and Operations Director and member of Weightmans’ Board. In 2017 he was appointed Business Services Director with responsibility for Facilities, People and Knowhow, Business Change, Information Management and Technology, Innovation and Risk and Compliance. Stuart chair’s the firm’s Operational Board which is responsible for the day to day running of the firm. Recently he has also been charged with running Weightmans’ Innovation function. He has a Masters in Information Technology, is a Director of the Legal IT Innovators Group and also chairs the UK MatterSphere User Group.
