Following a successful first meeting, Liverpool Law Society is delighted to welcome members to the second COO & Practice Managers Forum, a dedicated networking and discussion group for senior operational and business support leaders within member firms.
Held under Chatham House Rule, the forum provides a confidential and informal environment where COOs, Practice Managers, Operations Directors and other senior professionals can share experiences, discuss challenges and explore practical solutions with peers who understand the realities of managing and supporting modern law firms.
As firms continue to navigate an evolving landscape of regulatory change, workforce expectations, technological developments and economic pressures, the forum offers a valuable opportunity to learn from others, exchange ideas and gain insight into emerging trends and best practice.
The January meeting will focus on topics identified by attendees at the first forum, including:
- Recruitment and retention challenges, exploring changing workplace expectations, generational differences in attitudes to work, and how firms can adapt leadership approaches to attract and retain talent.
- Routes to qualification and firm sponsorship, including discussion around SQE funding, support models and experiences of candidate success rates.
- The integration of AI within legal practice, considering recent regulatory guidance, client expectations and restrictions on the use of AI when handling sensitive or confidential information.
- The economic outlook for law firms, reflecting on developments since the October 2026 Budget and examining the potential impact of wider government economic policies on firm operations and strategic planning.
Whether you are managing operational change, reviewing business processes, supporting staff development or planning for future growth, this forum provides an invaluable opportunity to engage with fellow professionals, share knowledge and develop practical solutions to common challenges.
Places are limited to encourage meaningful discussion and peer engagement, so early booking is recommended. Please note this is event is for members only.
