The Leasehold and Freehold Reform Act 2024 ~ Richard Snape

The Act received the Royal Assent on the evening of May 24th 2024 and is a highly significant piece of legislation. Parts are now in force, but other parts are subject to judicial review. Covering:

  • Banning of new leasehold houses and permitted leases
  • Changes to the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Changes to Lease extensions and enfranchisement which are currently subject to judicial review
  • Sales information requests
  • Changes to service charges and administration charges
  • Changes to rentcharges
  • The future and the draft Leasehold and Commonhold Reform Bill.

The Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 is the bed rock of commercial leases and is essential for any property professional.  The course aims to look at various situations where the Act applies. Covering:

Speaker Biographies

Keith Davidson

Keith Lloyd is a Delivery Manager on HM Land Registry (HMLR) local land charges (LLC) programme and is currently responsible for managing the migration of the local land charges data for organisations other than local authorities to HMLRs digital register. Keith has worked on the LLC programme since its inception in 2012 and in his career has also been a User Researcher and Senior Stakeholder Manager in HMLR’s Chief’s Office. He is a Member of the Association for Project Management and a Change Management Practitioner.

Charlie Marshall

Richard Snape has been the Head of Professional Support at Davitt Jones Bould since 2002. His areas of specialism include both commercial and residential property, in particular in relation to local government law, conveyancing issues, development land, commercial property and incumbrances in relation to land.

Pam White is a Sector Account Manager with HM Land Registry. She has over 15 years’ experience within casework and preliminary service teams processing applications.  In 2006 Pam became Spatial Data manager within the Business Development Fulfilment team and in 2014 the team Manager, responsible for a team of 17 in delivery of orders to their data customers.
