Calling all in-house lawyers in our region! The purpose of the committee, formed in 2018, is to offer in-house lawyers a forum to come together regularly, at least four times a year, to arrange ad hoc events for in-house lawyers, exchange ideas and information amongst peers, discuss best practice, contribute ideas to Liverpool Law Society’s training programme, and respond to relevant consultation papers.
In order to join this committee, you should be a member of Liverpool Law Society and a General Counsel, internal counsel, in-house lawyer or work with an in-house legal team and you can be at any level of your career. This would typically be those who are employed by an organisation that is not a regulated legal business, and could for example be internal lawyers in commerce or industry, the financial services sector, the not-for-profit sector, a trade union or local government. If you work with in-house lawyers and are part of their community, please also get in touch to see if you can be eligible to join.
It is estimated that lawyers working in-house make up almost a quarter of those holding practicing certificates in England and Wales, so we are keen for you to join us and make our voices heard!
If you would like to find out more or to apply to join the committee, please email committees@liverpoollawsociety.org.uk.
