Description

We are pleased to announce that Liverpool Law Society’s 2024 Annual Dinner will be taking place on Thursday, 14th November 2024.

We will be offering a warm welcome to the Liverpool Region’s legal community to come together to network with colleagues and peers and celebrate being part of a proud and vibrant legal profession.

It promises to be a fabulous evening.  We are honoured to have

The Rt Hon the Baroness Hale of Richmond DBE

as our guest speaker, as well as hearing from our President, Gaynor Williams and Vice President, James Mannouch.

Lady Hale retired as President of the Supreme Court of the United Kingdom in January 2020, after a varied career, as an academic lawyer at the University of Manchester (also qualifying and practising for a while as a barrister in Manchester), as the first woman member of the Law Commission, and as a Judge.  She has taken part in many notable cases, but most famously the ‘prorogation case’ in September 2019. In retirement she has spent her time in good works, speaking and writing – her memoir, Spider Woman, A Life, was published in 2021.

As if that isn’t enough…. we are delighted to be holding the Legal Awards ceremony during the evening, showcasing the excellent legal work of local firms and individuals completed over the past year.  With the Awards, there will be 8 categories to choose from as follows:

  1. Rising Star Award – sponsored by The University of Law
  2. Outstanding Team Award – Non-Contentious – sponsored by Landmark
  3. Outstanding Team Award – Dispute Resolution & Litigation
  4. Outstanding Team Award – Family (law) – sponsored by Document Direct
  5. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Award – sponsored by LJMU
  6. Outstanding Lawyer Award – sponsored by Miller Insurance
  7. Law Firm Award (1-49 employees)
  8. Law Firm Award (50+ employees)

Nominations will open at the beginning of July and close early September.   Please check back here once nominations have opened to make your submissions!

We are excited to hold this event and look forward to seeing as many of the legal profession in attendance as possible to celebrate not only the past but also the future of the profession.  We are very grateful to our sponsors for their support of this event.

There will be a collection on the night for the Lady Hale’s nominated charity.  It is the Freedom from Torture (Reg. Charity in England No. 1000340).  Please support this worthy charity which supports people who have survived torture to heal, feel safe and strong again.
